Check out Joe Sylvester Motorsports getting ready for a world record monster truck jump. Other extreme sports athletes marvel at the challenge ahead. Look for the video to drop on September 10th. We’ll post it when it gets released.
Joe Sylvester Motorsports will attempt a world-record monster truck jump this year in the Bad Habit machine, which uses one-of-a-kind XD Series Rockstar wheels. Joe Sylvester, owner/operator of the Bad Habit monster truck in the Monster Jam series, is the newly crowned Young Guns World Champion. He has an impressive 55 race wins, 12 final round victories, and an outstanding 62 total freestyle wins within seven years of monster truck competition.
Sylvester will make his official Guinness World Record attempt for the longest jump in a monster truck on Labor Day Weekend. He set the record previously by flying his 10,000-lb monster truck 208-ft, but Gravedigger has since assumed the mantle by adding six feet to the length. Sylvester’s attempt is set to take place on Sept. 1 at the Cornfield 500 in Columbus, Penn., and the driver is eyeing a target of 300 feet. Do you think he’ll make it? Why?
DC’s Robbie Maddison ended 2011 and started 2012 in a big way at Red Bull’s New Year No Limits event in San Diego, CA. Robbie, along with snowmobiler Levi LaVallee, soared across the San Diego Bay doing the first-ever simultaneous world-record breaking distance jumps. Robbie jumped 378 ft. breaking his previous world-record of 351 ft.
Robbie had this to say about the big jump: “It’s a cool feeling to do what I do, and have the backing I do. I was confident were were going to go a long way tonight and we’re going to come back and go even further.”
Congrats on another amazing feat Robbie! We’re really excited to see all of the great and crazy things that 2012 brings.
